Commander (retired) Hugh Laurance Vaughan-Williams, (18 August, 1893 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of F. Vaughan-Williams, Esq., J.P..[1]
Vaughan-Williams was appointed to the light cruiser Birmingham on 6 February, 1914 and served in her through 15 April, 1915 when he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.[2]
Following an extended, but extended appointment to Australia, he was appointed to Vernon to serve on the staff of the Portsmouth Mining School on 10 September, 1917.[3]
Vaughan-Williams was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1923.[4]
Vaughan-Williams was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 14 February, 1933 and was promoted to the rank of Commander on 18 August, 1933.[5]
