Commander Max Alan Chapman, R.N., Retired (15 May, 1893 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Chapman was, as is noted simply in his service record, a "colonial".

Chapman passed out of Royal Naval College, Dartmouth in April, 1910 ranked third of 77 cadets in marks on the Part I examination.[1]

Chapman was promoted to the rank of Midshipman on 15 January, 1911.[2]

Chapman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1915.

Chapman was appointed in command of the destroyer Dee on 29 October, 1918.[3]

Post-War

Chapman was placed on the Retired List at his own request with a gratuity on 23 June, 1920.

Chapman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired) on 15 April, 1923.

Chapman was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 15 May, 1933.
