Admiral SIR William Robert Kennedy, G.C.B., Royal Navy (4 March, 1838 – 9 October, 1916) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Early Life & Career
Kennedy was promoted to the rank of Commander on 18 July, 1867.[1]
On 14 December, 1885, he was appointed Senior Officer on the South East Coast of America, and assumed command on 2 February, 1886.[2]

Kennedy was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 29 November, 1889, Heneage.[3]
Kennedy was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 11 March, 1896, vice Wells.[4]
In the Queen's Diamond Jubilee honours, Kennedy was appointed an Additional Member of the Second Class, or Knight Commander, in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 22 June, 1897.[5]
He was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 16 June, 1901, vice St. John.[6] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870, he was placed on the Retired List on 2 November, at his own request.[7]
