Service
Hopewell was commissioned on 22 March, 1919 under the command of Lieutenant Commander Robert E. Rogers.
Hopewell was one of the fifty U.S. destroyers transferred to the Royal Navy for World War II, becoming H.M.S. Bath. She served in the R.N. only briefly before being transferred to Norway as H.No.M.S. Bath.
