Germany started building UC II Type coastal minelayer submarines in 1916. Sixty-four were commissioned between 1915 and 1917.
Design
These were double hulled boats, unlike the preceding UC I Type.
Torpedoes
- two 50cm tubes forward (external in early boats)
- one 50cm tube aft
Seven torpedoes were carried.[1]
Mines
- six 100cm tubes for eighteen UC 200 type mines
Guns
- one 8.8cm KL/30 (most boats)
- one 10.5cm KL/45 (few others)
