Engineer Vice-Admiral SIR Albert John Durston, K.C.B., Royal Navy (25 October, 1846 – 18 April, 1917) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Early Life & Career
He was promoted to the rank of Chief Inspector of Machinery dated 15 November, 1893.[1]
On the occasion of the Queen's birthday he was appointed an Ordinary Member of the Third Class, or Companion, in the Civil Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 25 May, 1895.[2]
In the Queen's Diamond Jubilee honours Durston was appointed an Additional Member of the Second Class, or Knight Commander, of the Civil Division of the Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 22 June, 1897.[3]
Durston was promoted to the rank of Engineer Vice-Admiral on 1 January, 1906.[4] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 29 June, 1900, he was placed on the Retired List on 25 October, 1906.[5]
