| |Contemporary Royal Navy documents to the [[Boadicea Class Cruiser (1908)|''Boadicea'' class]] seem almost always to pertain not only to those two ships but also to what popular and later sources refer to the three ships of the [[Active Class Cruiser (1911)|''Active'' class]] and to these two ships.<ref>For example, Admiralty Order 548 of 27 Oct 1914, listing ships of ''Active'' and ''Blonde'' class as members of ''Boadicea'' class. Moreover, there is a near lack of explicit reference to the ''Active'' and ''Blonde'' classes and disproportionate attention offered a nominal two ship ''Boadicea'' class.</ref> The editors generally assume references to the ''Boadicea'' class in a primary source document applies to all seven vessels unless a distinction is clearly emphasised.

The two scout cruisers of the Blonde Class.
Control Groups
"Scout" class Gun Control Groups[1]
In 1909, these were described as being similar to the Gem class, but the forecastle and poop guns could be controlled as separate groups or attached to the nearest broadside group on either side. The middle line guns could be connected to whichever side was desired.[2]
Fire Control Instruments
In 1909, it was planned that both ships in this class were to be completed with the latest Vickers Mark II F.T.P. Fire Control Instruments as follows:[3][4]
- Range Transmitters: 2
- Deflection Transmitters: 2
- Range Receivers: 10
- Deflection Receivers: 10
- C.O.S.: none
- Vickers Fire Gongs: 10 with 2 keys
None of the ships had Target Visible or Gun Ready signals.[5]
