Rangetaker, First Class was a non-substantive rating in the Royal Navy. The introduction of the rating was approved by the Board of Admiralty on 19 July, 1914,[1] and confirmed by Order-in-Council on 5 November. Pay was originally 4d. a day, and was increased to 8d. a day from 22 January, 1918.[2]
