Captain William Henry Hall, Royal Navy (20 April, 1842 – 10 March, 1895) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Hall was promoted to the rank of Captain with seniority of 31 December 1882.[1]

He was appointed in command of the battleship Resolution on 5 December 1893.[2]

He was on his way to take up the appointment of Captain Superintendent of Pembroke Dockyard when he took ill on the train. He was taken home where he died on Sunday 10 March, 1895. Had he lived he would have been retired on 20 April 1897 as a captain on reaching the age of 55. The next below him on the captains' list to reach flag rank wasn't promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral until 31 March 1898.
