Commander R.N.R. (retired) Robert Norman Taylor, R.D. (4 September, 1887 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

In 1915 and 1916, Taylor served in the seaplane carrier Campania. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 October, 1916.[1]

Taylor was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 82 on 2 July, 1917.[2]

In 1920, he was granted permission to proceed to British Columbia. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 October, 1924.[3]

Having recently been noted as having experience in the use of Hydrophones, he was demobilised on 28 June, 1919, he was placed on the Retired List on 15 July, 1922.[4]

World War II

He worked as a Consular Shipping Advisor in Seattle, appointed 29 August, 1939.

He was removed from the Retired List on 29 November, 1954, having last reported to the office in May 1952.
