Commander (retired) Crealock Roger Price, (7 July, 1895 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of C. H. Price, Esq., gentleman.[1]

Passed out of the training establishment to an appointment in Warrior which lasted from January 1913 through 17 June 1915. In June 1915 Price was admitted to Plymouth Hospital to be treated for gonorrhea. He was found fit later that month. He was then appointed to the sweeping sloop Larkspur.[2]

From Larkspur in August of 1916 he was appointed to Hercules.[3]

Price was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1917.[4]

From January to April 1918 he served as first officer in the sweeping sloop Godetia before taking a minesweeping course.[5]

From 2 December 1919 to 28 February 1920 he was in minesweeper Burslem as first lieutenant, after which he was appointed to the Template:UK-MichaelGriffith, to take command upon her commissioning through May, when he was reduced to being her first officer.

In 1924-25, he served in the minesweeper Petersfield.

Price was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 May, 1925. He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 11 May 1927.[6]

Price was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 7 July, 1935.[7]

World War II

In September 1939, he commenced service in the Royal Australian Navy at Melbourne. He reverted to the Royal Navy Retired List on 10 April, 1946.[8]
