Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. John Eustace Genge (7 April, 1879 – July 1945) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Born in Waterston, Dorchester. It was noted that he "interest[ed] himself in scientific subject."[1]

Genge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 15 July, 1915.[2]

Genge was relieved of his sole torpedo boat command due to intemperance. He also suffered an adverse report in the incident.[3]

Demobilised on 2 June, 1919, Genge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 15 July, 1923.[4]

Retired due to age on 7 April, 1924.[5]

He died at Weymouth Hospital in July 1945.[6]
