Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. Charles Edward Finlay, R.D., R.N.R. (14 May, 1879 – 1941) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Born in Lymington, Hampshire.

Finlay was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 18 October, 1909.[1]

Finlay was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 18 October, 1917.[2]

Finlay was tried by Court Martial on 18 February 1918 following the loss of Hazard in a collision with S.S. Western Australia. He was sentenced to be reprimanded and dismissed H.M.S. Excellent.[3]

Demobilised 15 September, 1919.[4]
