Lieutenant-Commander Ernest Brown, (20 February, 1883 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Brown was confirmed in the rank of Mate on 28 August, 1913. At the outbreak of the war, he served in the battleship Superb. On 5 February, 1915 he was appointed to the destroyer Arun, in which he would serve until she paid off on 17 August, 1915.[1]

Brown's next appointment was to the destroyer Diamond on 30 September 1915. He would be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in this appointment on 28 August, 1916 and remain in the ship until 3 June, 1919.[2]

On 20 September 1920 he was appointed in command of the trawler Patrick Bowe, which was renamed Test on 1 October. He left this appointment on 1 April, 1922.[3]

Brown was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 28 August, 1924.[4]
