Commander (retired) Gerald Gordon Slade, (27 October, 1899 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of merchant H. W. Slade, Esq..

Upon passing out of the Training Estavlishment in September of 1915, he was sent to tht ebattlecruiser Inflexible. He fought in her at the Battle of Jutland, and did not leave the ship until he was sent to Dolphin for a submarine course in March of 1918. On 26 August 1918 he was appointed to R 4.

On 25 February 1919 he was appointed to H 30, where he remained until 10 October.

Slade was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1920.

Slade was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 May, 1928.

World War II

Slade was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander on 27 October, 1944.

Reverted to the Retired List on 13 November, 1946.
