Lieutenant-Commander Harry Edward Wellman, (27 May, 1889 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Wellman was promoted to the rank of Signal Boatswain on 11 August, 1914. He served in Tiger until 13 August, 1916 when he was appointed to Lion. On 2 December, he was placed in Iron Duke. He was appointed to Queen Elizabeth on 15 February, 1917 and was promoted to the rank of Mate on 28 June, 1917.[1]
Wellman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 28 June, 1919.[2]
Wellman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 28 June, 1927.[3]
In 1929-1930, various evaluators disagreed as to whether he deserved promotion. He was "inclined to consider self before service" in the estimation of Douglas Faviell.[4]
