Captain Radulphus Bryce Oldfield, C.B.E., R.N. ( – 6 February, 1877) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Oldfield was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 14 October, 1847.

He served in the trenches before Sevastopol from 17 October, 1854.

Oldfield was promoted to the rank of Commander on 29 September, 1855.

Oldfield was promoted to the rank of Captain on 15 April, 1862.

In 1867 and 1868, Oldfield was blamed for grounding his command, the screw sloop Malacca four times.

He was made a Naval Aide de Camp and died in 1877, while still in the service but perhaps not employed.
