Gunner Francis Albert George Oakley, R.N. (25 January, 1876 – 1 November, 1914) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Oakley was granted the rank of Gunner on 2 August, 1902 and confirmed in the rank on 23 July, 1903.
Oakley commanded H.M.S. Seamew from 14 October, 1910 until he was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 026 on 30 January, 1913.[1]
In August, 1914, Oakley was appointed to the armoured cruiser Good Hope. He would die when she was sunk in the Battle of Coronel on 1 November, 1914.
