Commander James Angus Douglas-Hamilton, R.N., Retired (13 August, 1890 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Reverend Douglas Hamilton was raised by his guardian, G. F. Bowles, Esq.. He entered the Navy as it was transitioning to the new training scheme for cadets and was sent directly to the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth as part of the September 1905 intake term.
Douglas-Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 August, 1912.[1]
Douglas-Hamilton was appointed in command of the destroyer Obedient on 16 April, 1918.[2]
Post-War
Douglas-Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 August, 1920.
Douglas-Hamilton was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 19 August, 1933.
