Rear-Admiral (retired) THE HONOURABLE Richard Bingham, R.N. (6 May, 1847 – 12 November, 1924) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The younger son of the Third Earl of Lucan, Bingham's mother was a sister to the Earl of Cardigan, who'd been in the Charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava.[1]
Bingham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 1 June, 1869[2] after serving in the sloop Rosario in Australia.[3]
Bingham was promoted to the rank of Commander with seniority of 30 June, 1884.[4]
Bingham was promoted to the rank of Captain with seniority of 30 June, 1891.
Bingham was placed ont he Retired List at his own request on 6 January, 1897.
Bingham was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral (retired) with seniority of 15 March, 1904.
Bingham died in London following an operation, aged 77.[5]
