Commander George William Gubbins, R.N., Retired (24 August, 1854 – 5 September, 1923) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Gubbins was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 8 December, 1879.
Gubbins was placed on the Retired List on account of age with the rank of Commander on 24 August, 1899.
Gubbins was reverted to Retired List on 31 July 1918, having exhibited signs of hemiplegia in late April.
Gubbins died on 5 September 1923 of a cerebral hemorrhage and "recurrent attack of coma."
