Commander (retired) Patrick Astor Trier, O.B.E., R.N. (28 June, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of James M. Trier, Esq., a merchant.[1]

Trier's first ship was the dreadnought H.M.S. Centurion of the Second Battle Squadron, appointed 15 January, 1914. He would fight in her at the Battle of Jutland. In October 1916, he was appointed to the destroyer Minion, in which he fought through the war, receiving his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1917.[2]

Trier was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 December, 1925.[3]

World War II

Trier was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander on 28 June, 1946. Even so, he continued to work with the Navy through 15 January, 1956.[4]
