Konteradmiral Magnus von Levetzow (8 January, 1871 – 13 March, 1939) was an officer of the Kaiserliche Marine during the First World War.

Early Life & Career

An accomplished sea and staff officer, he briefly commanded the 2nd Scouting Group, planned Operation Albion and was instrumental in Germany opening unrestricted submarine warfare on the United States of America.

He was promoted to the rank of Konteradmiral in 1920.[1]

Von Levetzow supported the Kapp Putsch and played a part in Hitler's rise to power.

He is buried at the Südwestfriedhof, Stahnsdorf, Berlin.
