Captain Charles Alfred Evelyn Stanfield, (6 June, 1900 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of a solicitor, Stanfield passed out of the Training Establishment on 15 July 1916 and was appointed to H.M.S. Hercules. On 8 July 1918, he was appointed to the sweeping sloop Nigella, where he would remain until 10 October 1919.[1]

Stanfield was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1920.[2]

On 3 October 1924, he was appointed to Dolphin for command of C.M.Bs.. From 16 September 1926 through 8 July 1927, he commanded C.M.B. 84.[3]

Stanfield was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1928.[4]

Stanfield was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1934.[5]

World War II

Stanfield was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1939.[6]

Stanfield was placed on the Retired List on 8 July, 1949.[7]
