H.M.S. Skirmisher was one of eight Sentinel class Scout Cruisers completed for the Royal Navy in 1905.

Service

Skirmisher led eleven T.B.Ds., many of them new "River" class ships, of the Devonport Reserve from Plymouth on 21 August 1905 for a practice cruise along the Devon and Cornish coasts.[8]

As part of the Channel Fleet, Skirmisher started a refit in Devonport in August 1908, after Battle Practice.[9]

Skirmisher re-commissioned at Chatham on 1 July, 1913 for manoeuvres, destined for Seventh Destroyer Flotilla afterward.[10]
