Captain (retired) James Edward Hunter, (11 March, 1834 – 18 October, [year illegible]) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Hunter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 22 December, 1855.

Hunter was promoted to the rank of Commander on 16 August, 1863.

In 1867, Hunter was awarded the Royal Humane Society's Silver Medal.[1]

Hunter was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Captain on 1 October, 1873.
