She was expected to be ready for sea again on 2 March., when she would go out to the Mediterranean with a new crew for the battleship Royal Oak.[8] After handing over his ship, Captain Walter Hodgson Bevan Graham was informed by Admiralty Letter that the ship's engine room was "unfavourable" when inspected by A. Fremantle on 20 March.[9]
