Rear-Admiral (retired) Alfred Jerome Lucian Phillips, D.S.O., R.N. (2 August, 1893 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Lieutenant Colonel A. L. Phillips of the Colonial Indian Army.
Phillips passed out of Royal Naval College, Dartmouth in April, 1910 ranked second of 77 cadets in marks on the Part I examination.[1]
Phillips was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1915.
Phillips was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1923.
Phillips was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1928.
Phillips was appointed in command of the battleship Iron Duke in October, 1937.
Phillips was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Captain on 8 January, 1944.
Phillips was reverted to the Retired List and promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral (retired) on 22 December, 1947.
