H.M.S. Tickler was one of 24 gunboats of the Ant class.

Service

Tickler was renamed H.M.S. Afrikander in 1919. In 1923 Afrikander transferred to the Union of South African Seaward Defence Force as H.M.S.A.S. Afrikander. She returned to the Royal Navy in December 1932, becoming H.M.S. Afrikander II.

Commissioned on 15 June, 1923.[3] In mid-1937, she was a depot ship at Simonstown.[4]
