Admiral SIR John Franklin Parry, K.C.B., F.R.G.S., Royal Navy, (15 August, 1863 – 21 April, 1926) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Parry was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 20 January, 1885.[1]
Parry was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1899.[2]
Captain
Parry was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1905.[3]
In the King's Birthday Honours of 3 June, 1916, Parry was appointed an Additional Member of the Third Class, or Companion, in the Civil Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.).[4] He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 16 June, 1916 upon the vacancy caused by the retirement at his own request of Ernest H. Grafton.[5]
Post-War
On the occasion of the King's birthday he was appointed an Additional Member of the Second Class, or Knight Commander, in the Civil Division of the Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 3 June, 1919.[6] He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 September.[7] He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 25 November, 1920,[8] and to Admiral on 24 November, 1925.[9]
