General Characteristics
Originally, these boats may have been considered for provision with alternative armament schemes wherein guns and torpedo tubes could be swapped out to emphasise one role over another, as in the 125 Footers, but in 1888 a decision was made to abolish this practice.[2]
Two 14-in torpedoes in dropping gear and one machine gun.[3]
They carried a crew of 9 men.[4]
16.5 tons displacement. 16.5 knots.[5]
Six of these boats were intended to be carried on the depot ship Vulcan.[6]
