Commander Richard Charles Clavell, O.B.E., R.N., Retired (4 September, 1891 – 23 June, 1945) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Major R. K. W. R. Clavell, R.M.L.I.

Clavell was promoted to Sub-Lieutenant on 15 April, 1912.[1]

Clavell was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 038 on 20 November, 1914.[2]

Clavell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1914.

Post-War

On 21 October, 1919 he was lent to the Royal Australian Navy.

Clavell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1922.

Clavell was sent to the Royal Air Force on 16 March, 1929.

Clavell was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 19 February, 1935.

Died of myocardial degeneration and arteriosclerosis.
