Vice-Admiral Reginald Charles Prothero, C.B., M.V.O., Royal Navy, Retired (15 June, 1849 – 26 May, 1927) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Prothero was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1889.[1]

On 7 January, 1890, Prothero was appointed to the Edinburgh.[2] On 11 June, 1891, he was appointed to the Neptune,[3] and then to the Nile on 30 June.[4]

Captain

Prothero was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 January, 1895.[5] He was appointed to H.M.S. Doris on 27 April, 1898.[6]

Prothero was placed on the Retired List on 15 June, 1904.[7] On 20 February, 1906, he was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on the Retired List,[8] and to Vice-Admiral on 22 July, 1910.[9]
