Admiral James Clement Ley, C.B., C.V.O., Royal Navy, Retired (25 July, 1869 – 15 July, 1946) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Ley entered the Britannia on 15 January, 1883.[1]

Ley was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1901.[2]

Captain of H.M.S. Collingwood dated 22 June, 1912.

He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 5 October, 1917, vice de Chair.[3]
