Captain THE HONOURABLE Francis Charles Bathurst Addington (14 June, 1861 – 12 February, 1905) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1884.[1]
Addington was appointed in command of the gunboat Plover on 1 September, 1892.
Addington was admonished to exercise greater care after grounding Plover on 7 March, 1895. He was superseded in Plover on 26 November, 1895 and returned to England, arriving home on Christmas Day. Addington was appointed in command of the torpedo gunboat Circe on 3 March, 1896.[2]
He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1896.[3]
Around the year 1902, he was commended for resolving complaints that a Mr. Lodge raised against a Mr. Campbell in the Ellice and Gilbert Islands.
He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December 1903.[4]
On 3 January 1905, he was appointed in command of the destroyer Eclipse but he died just a little over a month later.
