Vice-Admiral (retired) Casper Joseph Baker (8 May, 1852 – ) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.
Life & Career
Baker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1875.[1]
Baker was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1891.[2]
Baker was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December 1898.[3]
In February 1901, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Astræa.
In November 1902, he was placed in command of the second class protected cruiser Flora.
He assumed command of the first class protected cruiser Edgar in February 1905 and of the battleship Ramillies in September 1906.
He retired on 8 May, 1907 on account of age.[4]
Baker was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on the Retired List on 18 May, 1908 and then to Vice-Admiral on 15 May, 1913.[5]
