The Inspecting Captain of Mechanical Training Establishments was captain of H.M.S. Indus, a mechanics' training establishment situated in Devonport.
It operated from 1906 to 1922, and encompassed a number of changing hulk vessels.

- Captain Bentinck J. D. Yelverton, 1 March, 1910[5]
- Captain Robert E. R. Benson, 1 March, 1912[6] (apparently abolished during hostilities)
- Captain Charles P. Beaty-Pownall, 17 February, 1920[7] – 11 January, 1921[8]
