Captain George Crozier Dillon, Retired (13 October, 1887 – 1 June, 1946) was born in Dublin and served in the Royal Navy during the Great War.
Life & Career
Dillon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 March, 1908.[1]
He was appointed to be gunnery officer of Cochrane on 6 November, 1915. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 March, 1916. Dillon transferred to Dreadnought on 21 January, 1917. He remained in Dreadnought until 7 August, 1918 when she paid off and went to Valiant on 24 September, 1918.[2]
Dillon was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1920.[3]
He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 15 October, 1931.[4]
Dillon was advanced to Captain on the Retired List on 13 October, 1932.[5]
World War II
Dillon saw a number of appointments during the war.
He succumbed to coronary thrombosis and chronchitis on 1 June, 1946.
