Service

In mid-1913 she was serving with the First Destroyer Flotilla.[8]

In July, 1914, Attack was serving in First Destroyer Flotilla, part of First Fleet.[9]

Attack was one of fourteen Acherons from the flotilla to fight in the Battle of Dogger Bank on 24 January, 1915 when she was under the command of Callaghan, whom was mentioned in Beatty's dispatch for his fine work in removing his admiral from the disabled Lion and installing her in the Princess Royal.[10]

On 10 March, 1915, while operating out of Rosyth, she attacked and sank U 12 off of Fife Ness along with Ariel and Acheron by repeated rams and gunfire.[11] Cyril Callaghan was in command for this sinking.[12]

She fought under Charles H. N. James at the Battle of Jutland as part of the First Destroyer Flotilla,[13] which was tasked with screening the Fifth Battle Squadron.
