Design & Construction

Designed from 1893 to 1895.[1]

Performance

The Victoria Louises were good, dry seaboats with a easy motion, although they tended to pitch when steaming downwind and suffered severe leeway because of their large superstructures. However, their seakeeping qualities deteriorated badly as their lower coal bunkers were emptied.[2]
