Rupert Egerton Lubbock
Captain (retired) Rupert Egerton Lubbock, (7 May, 1886 – 8 May, 1943) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of banker H. [illeg] Lubbock was born in Belgrave Square, London.[1]
Lubbock was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 August, 1907.[2]
Lubbock was appointed to Emperor of India on 15 October, 1914 and served in her through 4 July, 1919, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 August, 1915.[3]
Lubbock was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1919.[4]
In 1925, he was faulted in the loss of an anchor and cable from Godetia.[5]
Lubbock was promoted to the rank of Captain on 7 May, 1931.[6]
In 1938, he was granted permission to reside in Gold Coast Colony.[7]
World War II
Lubbock commanded a yacht, SONA[?] and two other small vessels early in the war.
He reverted to the Retired List as medically unfit on 27 October, 1942, Lubbock would die some seven months later.[8]
