Richard St. John

Commander Richard St. John, (10 July, 1883 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Bedford.

St. John was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 November, 1903.[1]

St. John was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 November, 1911. In September 1912, the Admiralty declared that it considered St. John's lax performance of duty to have been responsible for the supposed embezzlement of £2000 of public money from Orontes. He was ordered to personally pay £25, with no reflection upon his personal probity.[2]

St. John was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1918.[3]

St. John was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 22 September, 1920.[4]
