Lieutenant R.N.R. (temporary) Leslie Carden Gilbert, ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve and the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Gilbert was promoted to the rank of Temporary Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R. with seniority of 14 May, 1917. He served in the requisitioned auxiliary Queen Empress straight off.[1]

Gilbert was promoted to the rank of Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. with seniority of 14 May, 1918. He was then appointed to serve in the minesweeper Badminton We are not certain that he was in command of minesweeper Pontypool, rather than simply being aboard.[2]

He was demobilised on 20 January, 1920.[3]
