George Samuel Harding

Commander (retired) George Samuel Harding (5 May, 1883 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Promoted to the rank of Gunner on 23 December, 1911.[1]

Early in the war, Harding served in Leopard and Zulu. In Zulu, Harding was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 3 September, 1916 and declared suitable for gunnery duties.[2]

After serving three months in Linnet and seven in Torch, Harding was appointed in command of the destroyer Rattlesnake on 2 December, 1918.[3]

Harding was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 14 June, 1922 and was promoted to the rank of Commander on 5 May, 1923.[4]
