Ernest Freke Brickdale

Commander (retired) Ernest Freke Brickdale, (15 March, 1844 – 6 June, 1897) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Brickdale joined the school ship Illustrious but moved to the new H.M.S. Britannia when she opened on 1 January 1859.[1]

Brickdale was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 23 January, 1867.[2]

Brickdale was retired on account of age with the rank of Commander on 18 March, 1889.[3]
