Torpedo Davit

This small hoist was used to lift/move large torpedoes during re-arming and reloading. It was able to handle 21" torpedoes.

This fitting could doubtless be improved, but is pretty good for being based on just 2 drawings. In particular, note that the levers would interfere with each other. The training crank and the hoisting ratchet design are largely made up by the modeller, as is the arm holding the cable spool. These were particularly had to read from the plan. The basic functioning of the cable and pulley system is faithfully modelled.

This item would likely be painted steel, but that is Tone's guess. The pulleys might have been stainless steel or a combination of metals.
