Because I am such a good bloke, I have ordered the following document scanned and it is now available on line for those that might be interested.
Result of Battle Practice in His Majesty's Fleet 1911 and 1912 and Result of Test of Gunlayers with Heavy Guns in His Majesty's Fleet 1912

It is of moderate value, the 1912 more than the 1911.
Practices at this stage are still quite unrealistic, with a limited number of rounds fired at ranges where danger spaces are very great - hence hit percentages in the 30-60% band - more of an aiming test than a fire control test ss.
But of some interest. |
